Shaunta Theresa Magwood was born to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Coakley, Sr. on March 9, 1978 in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. She was baptized and became a member of Long Point Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 13 under the leadership of Rev. Jessie Gibbs and was a member of the Youth Choir. Her participation was limited due to her illness which hampered her for more than half of her life but during her good days, she was a very lively and self-motivated individual.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William and Celestine Coakley.
Shaunta went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 26, 2012 and leaves precious memories to be cherished by: her loving father and mother, Thomas and Barbara Coakley; one sister, Tammy Coakley of Killeen, TX; two brothers, Thomas Coakley, Jr. and Nakim Coakley; maternal grandparents, Harold and Eve Cromedy; niece, Amaya Coakley; nephew, Joshua Cooper; nine aunts: Delphine carey and Sandra Carey both of North Charleston, SC, Zelda Magwood of Summerville, SC, Laquantis Cromedy of North Charleston, SC, Maria Magwood of Columbia, SC, a very special aunt, Barbara Jenkins of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Brenda L. Capers of Charleston, SC, Miltilda McLean and Sharon C. Washington both of Charleston, SC; seven uncles: Lawrence Carey, Kevin Carey, William Coakley (Barbara) and Albert Coakley (Rose) all of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Larry L. Coakley(Joanne) adn Melvin Coakley (Judy) both of North Charleston, SC and a host of other loving relatives and sympathetic friends.
